Present: Bryanna, eLeri, Elisabeth, Emerson, Ignatia, James Allen, Judith, Kate, Kyran, Louise, Lucia, Rebecca, Ruth, Sheldon, Soiichiro, Volodimir.
Start: 7:04 p.m.
OFFICERS' REPORTS:
Chronicler:
Volodimir is about a week behind due to time problems and printer failures. He will get some help to canvass the populace for the Domesday. Those without email will get calls by phone.
Chatelaine:
Louise thanked all those who showed to help with the Cub Scouts demo on the 19th. There were a fair number of ladies and one man to teach with about 100 people in attendance. The Scouts gave us a donation of $100.
Shaker High School has requested a demo for World Medieval History nineth and tenth graders on Wednesday, January 12th. Unfortunately the teachers cannot combine classes so we would need people for 9:27am-10:13, 10:28-11:14am or both.
SUNY Albany would like us to provide entertainers for their Medieval-themed feast (4 pm) which would come before a basketball game. Louise explained to them the difficulty of demos in an environment where people are walking around and unable to follow what is being said. The populace concurred. We had been recommended by Cathedral.
Clerk of Reservations:
Ceilidh was attended by 157 people with a gate of $1251 including 96 on-board adults and 12 children on-board.
She is collecting for St. Nicholas - $10 on-board.
Knight Marshal:
There has been no answer from Mohawk Mall regarding indoor fighting. Soiichiro will make one more try. The next Snowberg practice will be in January with an exact date to be announced.
This Friday evening there will be an informal muster, for any and all fighters, requested by His Majesty in Rhode Island. Soiichiro is hoping to go. Call him for information. It will run from 8 pm to midnight.
If anyone is willing to help with loaner armor, it would be greatly appreciated. We are making the actual bodies. Emerson has donated steel legs to be used by Iron Key.
Exchequer:
The current balance is $5295.84.
$13 outstanding for Ceilidh not received.
$100 check from Boy Scouts needs to be deposited.
Kyran has the signature card signed, but needs address and account number. The card should be going in this week.
Chancellor Minor:
Absent - no report, but passed on thanks to Elisabeth for help at Ceilidh.
Mistress of the Lists:
At Bjorn's Ceilidh we had the armored combat for champion in a round robin with five combatants. Tomas had to drop out due to injury. Aelfwin is now Baroness's Champion and Yoshi is Baron's Champion. Seamus was authorized.
Lords' and Ladies' arm wrestling done in "free form." The winners were Marjory and Lord John Fair.
The two-year period for transitional authorization cards ends on New Years Day, 2000. You will need reauthorization if you still have a green-and- white card. Any questions can be answered at the Kingdom MOL's web site which has all authorizations.
Pursuivant:
She is not yet caught up on petitions for arms for champions and badges, etc., for Snowberg. Some people are working on names and devices. If you want something done, be a squeaking wheel!
Seneschal:
The next meeting is on January 5 at the Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church. She will have the full list for the coming year at the next meeting.
Considerable interest in us has been express in email recently. She encourages everyone to be nice.
Should we skip the December Social? Lucia indicated that Heather Pano, aka Whitefeather wants to host one on the 12th in Malta off exit 12 of the Northway. She will contact Yoshi to get directions on the web site.
The next Social will be January 16, 6pm at Sabina's. It is the same day as the T-Tunic class, which will be moved to noon.
Ideas for February? Kyran will research a bowling party.
Arts and Sciences:
[From Bryanna]
Cantus Concordia will be having a Bardic Night instead of their normal practice on December 14. We anticipate perhaps a 1-1/2 monthly potluck where we could share songs for competitions or even for post-revels. This will be at 7:30 pm at Hamilton Union Presbyterian church.
[From Elisabeth via paper]
Sapphire nominations go the Their Excellencies.
Armor-making is by appointment with Baron Soiichiro. Stay tuned to Arts and Sciences meetings. We'll have another night of Japanese armor-lacing in January or February.

EVENTS:
Ceilidh:
The Children's Auction went well. Sabina thanks everyone [long list] involved for their help at the event. Thank-you baskets were given to Elspeth and Emerson -- and thanks to him for running the Adult Auction. We might want to have co-feastocrats in the future. Unfortunately we only made 191.40 on the gate itself. We took in $523.40 from both auctions. $4.30 was from the children's auction, but a good time was had by all. That money is not budgeted for anything as yet.
Louise indicated that of all people who borrowed garb at the Newcomers Event only one person didn't make Ceilidh. Garb was also given out continuously at the site. All garb has been returned and the newbies appeared to have had a good time.
St. Nicholas:
Judith is on track but needs a children's event. Sabina can't do it but can help set it up. Ignatia said she can if all else fails. Parents are encouraged to be there to work with their children.
Glitter is a major no-no at this site.
If anyone has period board games, please bring them. Dreydels are in the autocrat's box (Kyran).
The menus are well set. eLeri says we have $10/$6 in the Pikestaff. Judith says we have $5 for dinner and not to worry. BJ's has been passed on as a source for bulk kielbasa and pierogi.
Crystal Snowflake Ball:
Due to scheduling and time problems, we will delay this event to April 8. Check coronation date. Bids for coronation yet (Emerson).
King and Queen's Bardic:
Faoiltigearna, Kyran and eLeri had a meeting about feast topics. There were some alterations to the original concept. Kyran is hoping to do dishes from Western Europe representing a "Bard's Pilgrimage" from his homeland to the King's Land.
He will draw up a parking map for the church across the street who is letting us use the lot as long as noone dies or gets married. We have to clear the lot if snow removal is required. We are also responsible to see that only SCAdians park there. The map will be on the web site.
A tentative schedule has been sent out to Their Highnesses and Majesties.
Roses next year:
Bids? Kyran and Bryanna propose to do it Memorial Day weekend. They requested the Knight Marshal to request the presence of Their Highnesses to make it Central Region War Camp. They seem positively disposed. This could considerably bump up numbers.
The bid was accepted with three abstentions.
Notice needs to get into the Pikestaff soon.
NOTE FROM SENESCHAL:
The terms are up in May for Chatelaine and Pursuivant. Anyone interested should send in nominations for an April vote.
OLD BUSINESS:
No report for Policies and Procedures.
NEW BUSINESS:
Soiichiro:
His Excellency asked whether it might be appropriate to have classes on feastocrating and autocrating? Bryanna said it's a good idea. Perhaps A & S could do it once a year? Judith suggested the Order of the Feather meet at Saint Nick's to discuss it. Emerson suggested we could do specialized stuff like this at the ends of meetings as they are shorter now. Bryanna liked that a lot.
eLeri:
Opinions on lunch? Cabbage soup with broth, etc? Or just simple sideboard. Comments on soup positive as a nice warm thing for a cold day.
Emerson:
He would like to do a "How to Budget" lecture after the next meeting.
Volodimir:
The deadline for submissions will be changed to last Saturday in the month for the Snowflake.
Judith:
She has never been at Market Day at Birka. She would like someone to go with and share expenses. Is it any good? Emerson replied that there is a lot of merchanting overlay with Pennsic but that it's pretty good. Court is dismal as it's in a long, thin room.
Bryanna:
Faoiltigearna is playing at the Victorian Stroll in Troy this weekend at 2pm, followed by the Hair of the Dog in the Third Street Church. Dinner is $10.
Ignatia:
Lost and Found from Ceilidh includes mugs and a green cloth and mugs/plates with purple strips.
Finish: 8:03 p.m.
